Responsibilities
Ticket / Gate Airport Sales Agents (ASAs) are responsible for: Staffing the ticket counter, boarding gates and baggage service areas of the airport.
Providing assistance and excellent customer service to the traveling public by performing various customer service duties in the airport terminal such as:
Receiving and directing incoming calls, greeting and directing customers, tagging and handling baggage.
Preparing tickets, determining fares and routing to assure passenger's travel needs are met.
Maintaining a neat and professional appearance by adhering to Continental’s standards for uniform and dress.
Qualifications
Must be able to work the ticket counter as well as the boarding gates and baggage service area.
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Proven customer service job experience desirable.
Must have a professional appearance.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to stand and walk throughout the entire work shift.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
Must be flexible to work ANY shift that is assigned to you within a 24 hour/day, 7 day a week operation which can include late nights, early hours, weekends and holidays.
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to read, write and speak English.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-placement physical (including strength and hearing/vision testing) and drug screen.
In addition to the passing Continental’s background investigation, candidate must be able to clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position. Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Airport Systems, Port Authority, and U.S. Customs.
Training for these positions will be provided by Continental in one of our HUB locations (Newark, Cleveland, or Houston). The training is paid at the hourly starting rate and will require a full time commitment for a period of up to 5 weeks. Must be able to attend the full time training at a date, time, and location to be selected by Continental and must be able to pass all training with a grade of 90% or better.
