Responsibilities

Duties include receiving, binning, issuing, and shipping material located in stockrooms and warehouses. Duties include extensive computer data entry; packaging and shipping aircraft parts and non-aircraft parts. Preparation of documents to support shipments including dangerous goods (restricted articles), customs documentation, air bills, etc; Performing perpetual inventories and audits. Building parts kits and other warehouse related duties. Maybe required to operate various ramp and warehousing equipment such as forklifts, tugs, delivery carts, trucks, etc. Material Specialists are responsible for signing for their own work.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required (with two years of college or equivalent military or vocational experience preferred). Must hold a valid drivers license. Must be able to obtain certifications (Mobile Ground Equipment, state, OSHA and Airport); required for operating company ground equipment. Must be able to successfully complete the Dangerous Goods Training Program and Material Services Training Manual within the initial 180 day probationary period. The basic qualifications include the ability to speak, read and write the English language. Shift work is required. Candidate must be able to clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position. Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal service clearances. Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.
